PPE and Hand Hygeine Training
The CCG offer a programme of training which covers hand hygeine (both technique and use of products) and PPE, from where to stuff, where and how to don/doff and safe disposal afterwards. To access the presentations and resources used by the CCG to deliver PPE training to care providers, please follow this link. Please navigate to ‘Essential Learning’ and you will see a folder called: Covid 19 Training for Care Homes - presentations (from the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital) which contains the resources.
If you have a need of further virtual or face to face PPE training or have any queries please contact h.degnan1@nhs.net
IPC Workbooks for Care Staff
Funding has been agreed to allow all care home, domiciliary and supported living staff working within the NHS Vale of York CCG to access to specially designed educational workbooks produced by the Community Infection Prevention Control Team.. These are designed for staff of all levels to work through at their own pace, and can also help with meeting CQC registration and inspection standards. Further information on the care home and domiciliary workbooks can be found through the links below.
Care homes within the North Yorkshire County Council area have had their funded by the local authority, so for further information on this scheme please contact their Quality Improvement Team. For care homes in the City of York and East Riding of Yorkshire, and domiciliary providers accross the entire patch unless funding for this initative has all been allocated so no further workbooks are available. However they can be bought directly from the Community IPC Team using the links above. As the majority of staff working in the area will have been allocated these books, staff joining you from other providers may already have these.
