Out of Hours GP Services at Selby New War Memorial Hospital

NHS Vale of York Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) would like to confirm that it has not made or agreed to any changes to the Out of Hours GP Services operated from Selby Hospital.

Information recently circulated in the Selby and York areas purports that the Out of Hours GP Service at the Selby New War Memorial Hospital would not be available after 5pm from 1 September 2015, meaning that patients would have to travel to York.

This information is untrue and incorrect. The CCG has not made any such decision. The GP Out of Hours services from 6pm – 8am, seven days a week will remain available at the Selby New War Memorial Hospital.

The CCG can only assume that there is a misunderstanding, due to the fact that ‘sleeping shifts’ will cease. This change has been planned for some time across the whole health economy.

The CCG expects all doctors working across the urgent care system to be awake and working during paid time.
