Health chiefs are all ears in Helmsley
Local health commissioners are calling on the Helmsley community to meet with its senior leaders and share their views at an event about local health and care services.
The event, at Helmsley Town Hall on Thursday 17 August, is one of a series of public engagement events across the Vale of York where NHS Vale of York Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) will present information about its work and discuss the local financial challenge.
Dr Shaun O’Connell, a local GP and Joint Medical Director at the CCG said: “The engagement and involvement of patients, partners and other stakeholders is intrinsic to our work.
“We believe is it vital that the public have an opportunity to have their say about the future of health services and our events focus on enabling the local community to have a real input into the formulation of plans and ideas.
“We want to hear their views and talk openly and honestly about the local £40million financial challenge and ask them how we can support people to stay healthy.”
The CCG has a range of engagement and involvement opportunities to gather the views of patients, service users and the public. As well as collecting views at events, the CCG has a dedicated SMS text service where views can be shared too. To share views text the word HEALTH followed by the message to 60066.
