Where exceptional clinical indications exist (e.g. intractable pruritus ani), referral to the CCG Individual Funding Request Panel is advised.
This does not restrict referral to secondary care for a surgical opinion where there is diagnostic uncertainty.

Exclude Red Flag Symptoms
Ulcerative lesions around the perianal margin- consider 2WW referral

Management
Reassurance, wet wipes post defecation and advice on keeping bowels soft should suffice.
