Type 2 Diabetes Prevention Week 1-7 April 2019

The National Diabetes Prevention week runs between 1 and 7 April 2019 and as a CCG we have organised a Diabetes Prevention Week road show.

We will be visiting a number of different companies within York to provide opportunities for their staff to discuss the risks of developing Type 2 diabetes and what support is available to help them reduce their risk.

As part of the road show we will be promoting the Healthier You: Diabetes Prevention Programme. A free personalised programme to help people reduce their weight, eat well and increase the amount of physical activity they do - reducing their risk of developing Type 2 diabetes.

Know your risk

The main key message is a simple one: making small changes to ensure you live a healthier lifestyle will reduce your risk of developing Type 2 diabetes.

You can calculate your risk at: www.diabetes.org.uk/risk

It only takes a few minutes and could be the most important thing you do today.
