Another chance for Easingwold community to share views with health and care chiefs

If you missed out on sharing your views about what really matters to you about health and care services in Easingwold and the surrounding areas - don’t worry.

Local health and social care chiefs are calling the members of the local community that couldn’t join them at their first event, to be part of the conversation on the 19 October 2015.

The event, the second in a series of conversations and events to canvas opinion, is being held at The Galtres Centre.

Dr Mark Hayes, the CCG's Chief Clinical Officer said: “The future transformation of services will place patients at the centre of their own care and support and we want to create innovative solutions which will help to meet the challenges – and opportunities, by working collaboratively with our communities.

“Our aim is to improve outcomes for patients; I would encourage local patients and people that didn’t come to the first event to join us and share what they think good services look like and the matters that are important to them so we can build a shared vision that will provide the best in health and wellbeing for the whole community.

“We are holding a second event because it is really important that as many people from the local area share their views.”

Mike Proctor, Deputy Chief Executive at York Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, said: “We welcome this opportunity to work alongside local people to understand what matters to them in terms of their health and wellbeing.”

Richard Webb, North Yorkshire County Council’s Corporate Director for Health and Adult Services, said: “We want people in Easingwold to be able to live longer, healthier, independent lives and we want to hear what matters most in terms of keeping well and getting the right care and support when it's needed.”

David Ita, Partnership Co-ordinator at Healthwatch North Yorkshire, said: “This is a unique opportunity for patients, carers and the residents of Easingwold to help design future health and social care services for their community. As the independent patient and public champion, we encourage local people to make every effort to attend this unique event in order to make sure their views and experiences and that of their friends and family are represented.”
