The CCG is responsible for commissioning healthcare services in the local area. Commissioning means the procurement and, where needed, improvements that will provide good quality, safe services that are delivered at the most appropriate time and place.
So it can commission services that the community needs, the CCG works with the local community to understand and hear their opinions. This feedback provides a valuable insight and further knowledge that can highlight issues or hear about something that patients think is working well or could be done differently.
Patient views help to shape the decisions that are made about local healthcare services and the CCG is calling the community to get involved and have their say.
The CCG has a team that is dedicated to collecting the views and experiences of healthcare. Feedback is often supplied anonymously, but it doesn’t have to be, and it is shared with clinicians and senior staff to help them to make decisions.
